Ten local residents took part in a mobile culinary training program hosted by the East Jakarta Regional Job Training Center (PPKD) at the Klender Urban Village Office in Duren Sawit.

East Jakarta PPKD Head, Teguh Hendarwan explained that the training program, held from August 30 through September 25, aims to bring vocational skills directly to neighborhoods through an active outreach approach.
"The MTU program is designed to help residents easily gain knowledge and practical skills, giving them a head start whether they want to enter the workforce or launch their own businesses," he expressed, Thursday (9/24).
30 People with Disabilities Participate in Barista Training at East Jakarta PPKDTeguh added that graduates of the program will receive a completion certificate from the East Jakarta PPKD, alongside a chance to earn professional certification from the National Professional Certification Board (BNSP).
"To earn the BNSP certificate, participants are required to complete a two-day competency assessment," he clarified.
Klender Urban Village Economy and Development Head Tiyas Mirnasari, shared that the cooking class drew great enthusiasm from locals, especially mothers looking to pick up new skills and launch home-based food businesses.
"Programs like this are a huge hit with residents who want to be self-employed. We hope this initiative goes a long way in helping drive down unemployment," she explained.
She noted that the attendees represented a diverse group of locals, including TP PKK members, Dasawisma volunteers, Jumantik cadres, and other residents looking to build up their entrepreneurial know-how.
Meanwhile, a 51-year-old local resident Nurromah shared her excitement over joining the program, highlighting that the free admission and convenient neighborhood location made it easy for her to stick with the classes all the way through.
The hands-on training gave her valuable new insights and skills to help grow a business.
"I'm thrilled, and they even provided our meals throughout the sessions. A huge thank you to the East Jakarta PPKD and the Klender Urban Village for offering this free training—it has been incredibly beneficial," she concluded.
