Residents of Untung Jawa Island Receive Free AC Service Training

The Seribu Islands Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Sub-agency held the first batch of air conditioning (AC) technical training at the Bumi Perkemahan Multipurpose Building, Untung Jawa Island Urban Village, Seribu Selatan Islands District.

Sub-agency's Head of Manpower Section, Titis Sri Hartopo said the training, which took place from September 28 to October 2, 2026, was attended by 10 residents who were unemployed. This activity was an effort to improve residents' skills and reduce unemployment rates.

Participants receive comprehensive training from experienced instructors. The material includes an introduction to basic components, system assembly techniques, periodic maintenance, and welding of household AC and industrial refrigeration pipes according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
She added that participants who pass will also receive a competency certificate. During the training, the committee will provide all operational needs, including meals, so participants can focus on the material and practice.
Head of Untung Jawa Island Urban Village, Muslim, hoped participants who have taken the training can meet the need for AC repair services for local residents while encouraging the growth of new business units in the technical services sector.
"This training is really needed by residents and there is a lot of interest in it," he said.
Meanwhile, one of the participants, Ahmad (37) admitted he was grateful for the opportunity to learn about AC technical service. Armed with his experience repairing ship engines, he is optimistic he would be able to quickly master the technical aspects of air conditioning.
"I plan to open an AC call service (home service) on this island," he admitted.
