South Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency Trains Residents to Process Local Food to Increase Economic Value

The South Jakarta Food Security, Maritime, and Agriculture Sub-agency (KPKP) held a Training on Diversification of Processed Agricultural Products at the Ragunan Agro Education Tourism (AEW), Pasar Minggu District.

Head of South Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency, Ridho Sosro, said the training, which took place on September 23, 24, and 29, 2026, was attended by 105 participants from various backgrounds. They included Jakpreneur mentors, the Family Welfare Movement (TP PKK), urban farming activists, and Nutrition Care Groups (KPG).

Ridho explained that participants received theoretical material and hands-on practice in making various types of cakes and processed products with high added value. The training focused on local foodstuffs such as pineapple, purple sweet potato, and sweet corn.
"The material and practice were guided directly by a professional resource person, Francisca Patricia Kusumaratna, as the Owner of Warung Mami Sisca," he explained.
According to him, the presence of experienced speakers is expected to provide new inspiration to participants so that agricultural products are not only consumed fresh, but can also be processed into products that have competitiveness and economic value.
Meanwhile, Azizah Syafrin, Chair of the South Jakarta Family Welfare Movement (TP PKK), hopes that the mothers who participated in the training will continue to innovate and develop their superior products. This will enable their home-based businesses to contribute to the community's economy.
"If possible, perhaps more training like this could be held in the future, especially since they receive assistance to support their production. This way, the women won't have to worry about equipment costs anymore since everything is covered," she hoped.
