Channel Normalization in Karang Anyar to Be Completed in Early November

The Central Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency is targeting completion of the water channel normalization on Jalan A Gang III RW 04, Karang Anyar, Sawah Besar, in early November.

Sawah Besar District's Head Unit of Water Resources, Yusuf Sumardani said the normalization of the 170-meter-long channel was carried out since the first week of last September by 10 task force personnel.

"Both sides of the channel on this road are improved," he said, Friday (10/2).

He added that channel normalization using 40 x 40 x 120 centimeter U-ditch concrete and using a 20 centimeter high cover.

"We are optimistic that normalization will be completed in early November, to overcome the problem of inundation that often occurs when it rains," he hoped.

Meanwhile, Head of RT 03/RW 04, Soleh stated his side submitted a normalization proposal because the condition of the channel had narrowed and had often caused flooding since the last 10 years.

"Residents' aspirations were immediately followed up, so we no longer worry about inundation when it rains," he admitted.
