Over 10,000 Potholes Fixed in North Jakarta

The North Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency repaired 10,837 potholes between January and September 2026. The repair work encompasses an area of 119,815 square meters, covering a total road span of 44,363 meters.

North Jakarta Roads, Bridges, and Road Facilities Section Head Libertus Sagala, stated that the repairs are conducted periodically to maintain the safety and comfort of residents and to minimize the risk of traffic accidents.
"We respond directly to resident complaints via JAKI app and other official channels, alongside our daily field inspections. Our teams move quickly to patch damaged roads and keep traffic moving safely," he expressed, Wednesday (10/7).

• Penjaringan: 2,026 spots (38,499.55 square meters)
• Tanjung Priok: 1,871 spots (18,569.11 square meters)
• Kelapa Gading: 1,504 spots (12,023.50 square meters)
• Cilincing: 1,179 spots (21,722.81 square meters)
• Pademangan: 1,024.5 spots (3,394.70 square meters)
• Koja: 1,021 spots (8,295.78 square meters)
"We additionally handled 2,211 points encompassing an area of 17,309.91 square meters,” he explained.
He explained that repairs were conducted throughout North Jakarta's six sub-districts together with the agency’s road and bridge teams, covering residential, arterial, collector, and local roads.
"Several factors contribute to road deterioration, such as aging construction, intense rainfall, water pooling, and excessive freight truck loads," he explained.
Repair techniques depend on the scale of the damage and traffic volume: crews use cold-mix patches for minor road flaws, while hot-mix asphalt is deployed for moderate to severe potholes.
He stressed that road sweeping patrols operate continuously across the municipality to identify and fix pavement cracks before they pose risks to drivers.
"Our personnel are actively sweeping the streets. We urge the public to notify us of any potholes so they can be patched right away," he said.
