Jakarta Legislative Vice Chairman Wibi Andrino called for an end to unofficial fundraising collections targeting civil servants (ASN) for the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) campaign.
It has got to stop because it disrupts civil service performance
He stressed that donations must be entirely voluntary, without mandatory fees or preset amounts. Citing directives from Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, he urged officials to enforce the rules locally.
"It has got to stop because it disrupts civil service performance. The city secretary's letter and the Governor's directives are clear: these practices must end," he expressed, Monday (10/12).
Take Transit to Residents' Doorsteps via Micro-Streets, Wibi UrgedHis comments follow reports of unofficial fee collections during South Jakarta's PMI drive. He has no current updates on whether similar practices are happening elsewhere in the city.
"I don't have an update on what's going on in other districts regarding these informal, mandatory fees," Wibi noted.
He reiterated that unauthorized collections outside official rules must stop immediately. All parties must follow city directives to ensure fundraising does not disrupt civil servants' work.
Earlier, Governor Pramono Anung made clear that PMI drive donations must be entirely voluntary, opposing mandatory quotas or forced contributions on agencies and residents.
Addressing social media claims about set donation amounts, Pramono stated, he will meet with Jakarta PMI to stop mandatory targets. He stressed, the annual fundraising campaign should never be a burden for civil servants or the public.
