East Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency deployed 215 field officers to 59 traffic hotspots to manage morning congestion.

I hope this becomes a daily routine

It is part of the Jakarta Transportation Agency's new 'Gebrak Pagi' initiative to clear rush-hour traffic jam.

He noted that the initiative strengthens rush-hour oversight by deploying transit officials and field officers directly to top morning bottlenecks.

"We've deployed 215 personnel to 59 traffic hotspots across East Jakarta, stationed on duty from 6:30 to 8 AM," he expressed, Monday (10/12).

He explained that the effort mobilizes staff across all ranks—from the agency head and deputy head to middle managers, administrative employees, and contract field workers (PJLP).

First-day monitoring showed morning congestion at several bottlenecks was mainly caused by heavy traffic volume.

"Infrastructure work on and around the roads also hindered traffic flow," he explained.

He called on drivers to follow traffic laws, respect road signs, and stay off sidewalks.

"Sidewalks are built for pedestrians. Drivers must also obey instructions from field officers," he added.

Local motorist Syarifuddin (41), praised the mobilization of East Jakarta transit personnel during the morning rush.

"Having officers on the ground is essential for keeping traffic flowing smoothly during high-volume morning hours," he admitted.

He regularly travels along Jalan Raya Bogor, Jalan Dewi Sartika, and Jalan Otto Iskandardinata (Otista) on his way to work in Menteng, Central Jakarta.

"I really appreciate the sub-agency's traffic enforcement. I hope this becomes a daily routine during the morning rush," he stated.
