Open for All: Jakarta City Hall Welcomes Visitors for Namu Balai KotaRano said that Jakarta City Hall is a home belonging to all residents and is always open to anyone who visits.
"Today we're opening what we call the Namu Balai Kota. Actually, in Betawi, it's not a balai, but a bale. So, this city hall is the community's hall, not ours," he said, Saturday (10/17).
In this program, visiting residents not only enjoy the atmosphere of City Hall, but are also guided by a tour guide to learn more about the history of the building.
"This is a view of the city hall. The city hall was built around 1890," he added.
Rano continued that the implementation of this activity will continue to be improved so that this program provides optimal benefits for the community.
"Hopefully, this Namu Balai Kota program can be a bridge to bring together the local government and its residents," he hoped.
Head of Jakarta Communication, Informatics and Statistics Agency, Marulina Dewi explained the Namu Balai Kota program was initiated by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung to bring the public closer to the center of government through interactive and open spaces.
"The Governor and Vice Governor stated that City Hall must be able to be used continuously, even on Saturdays and Sundays it can be used directly by the people of Jakarta," explained Marulina.
The Namu Balai Kota program presents a series of tours in the form of educational, arts, cultural, culinary, community activities, including visits to Jakarta Smart City and the Beritajakarta production studio.
The public can also access various public services provided at City Hall. These include passport processing, mobile driving licenses, mobile vehicle registration services, free health checks, opening Bank Jakarta accounts, and business licensing services.
"The Namu Balai Kota program opens the doors of the city hall as a public space for residents to get to know their government center better, and is used for the needs of the people of Jakarta," she stated.
This program was previously piloted on October 3. Around 300 people registered online through the JAKI app and website.
