Pramono Inaugurates Aura Oncology Center Building at Pasar Minggu Hospital

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung opened the Aura Oncology Center at Pasar Minggu RSUD Hospital, South Jakarta, Friday (10/30), coinciding with World Sight Day.

The expansion is part of the city administration's strategic push to bolster regional oncology services.

Serving patients from Jakarta and surrounding areas, he continued, the hospital's oncology center offers comprehensive cancer care. Its services range from early detection and diagnosis to surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, gynecologic oncology, rehabilitation, palliative care, and dedicated patient navigation.

He hoped the expansion would improve access to safe, quality, and comprehensive oncology care aligned with medical standards.

"Hope this oncology center will support cancer patients throughout Jakarta and lighten their burden during treatment," he hoped.

The expansion responds directly to growing public health demands, Pramono added, noting that Jakarta's healthcare network currently spans 31 regional hospitals, 44 community health centers, and 292 auxiliary clinics.

Aside that, the Jakarta government is preparing to build new national- and international-standard hospitals on the former Sumber Waras site in West Jakarta and in Cakung, East Jakarta.

"We're pursuing these projects because Jakarta consistently serves as a national referral center for healthcare," he added.

By raising standards across private and state-run hospitals, Pramono hopes Jakarta can fully serve patients locally so they do not need to travel abroad for care.

"I want Jakarta residents and visitors from other regions to get their treatments and health check-ups right here, as our medical infrastructure has reached exceptional standards," he emphasized.

Beyond its oncology center, Pasar Minggu RSUD provides specialized care for stroke, kidney and urological disorders, cardiovascular conditions, integrated maternal and child health, as well as traumatology services.
