Fire Burned Two Houses in Kalideres

Fire burned two semi-permanent houses used as restaurant and rented house on Jalan Tanah Lot, RT 01/12, Kalideres Urban Village, Kalideres Sub-district, West Jakarta. There are no casualties reported on this incident, but the loss is estimated reaching dozens million rupiah.

At first, the fire burned the restaurant. Local residents supported by traders extinguished the fire. Unfortunately, the fire quickly spread and burned another rented house

Arman (43), a local resident, said that the fire occurred around 10.30 am. Allegedly, the fire was caused by short circuit electricity at a restaurant owned by Marni (45).

"At first, the fire burned the restaurant. Local residents supported by traders extinguished the fire. Unfortunately, the fire quickly spread and burned another rented house," he said, Saturday (5/3).

Fire Burnt 30 Semi-Permanent Houses

West Jakarta Operational Chief for Sub-dept. of Fire and Disaster Handling, Abdul Wahid, explained 23 fire trucks were involved to extinguish the fire.

"The cause of fire is still being investigated, but the main cause if short circuit," he stated.
