Illegal Parking in W. Jakarta Still Rampant

The road user is complaining the existence of illegal parking in some streets in West Jakarta that leads to traffic congestion.

Asemka area is entering Tambora and Taman Sari. We'll coordinate to do controlling because it is the responsibility of West Jakarta Mayor

Based on Beritajakarta.com observations, a number of streets are still rampant with illegal parking, ranging from Pintu Kecil Asemka, Glodok, Pesanggrahan, CNI Puri Kembangan and Kota Tua. In that location, some motorbikes are seen parked haphazardly and causes narrowing.

Tambora Sub-district Head, Djaharuddin admitted the existence of street vendor (PKL) and illegal parking in around Asemka has caused congestion. But the area is located in two areas of sub-district.

Illegal Parking in Pondok Pinang Controlled

"Asemka area is entering Tambora and Taman Sari. We'll coordinate to do controlling because it is the responsibility of West Jakarta Mayor," he expressed, Tuesday (7/18).

Head of West Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept, A Banjanahor explains his sub-dept has formed a team to control illegal parking and public transport that does ngetem (stopping to long to wait for passenger). The team consists of towing, controlling and qlue units.

"They will be sent to control illegal parking in Tambora and Taman Sari headquartered in Jakarta Bus Terminal," he told.

He admitted has held illegal parking raid in some areas routinely. He also intensively does socialization to residents not to park vehicle haphazardly.

"If they ignore it, we will follow up it," he finished.
