That’s why for public minivans with wide-open-door, we’ll turned those into medium-size minivans. We will also install CCTV to avoid sexual harassment
According to Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki T Purnama, after meeting with National Commission on Violence against Women (Komnas Perempuan), sexual harassment happened on public minivan because the vehicle has wide-open-door that makes people, especially men, peek easily to inside the minivan.
“There are so many inputs gained from the meeting with National Commission on Violence against Women.
That’s why for public minivans with wide-open-door, we’ll turned those into medium-size minivans. We will also install CCTV to avoid sexual harassment ,” stated Basuki at City Hall, Tuesday (5/6).4 damaged JPOs in Jakarta RepairedIn the meeting, National Commission on Violence against Women also asked Jakarta Provincial Government to repair pedestrian bridges (JPO) that have holes on its stairs. This is because through those holes, people beneath the stairs could peek on women wearing skirts.
“Surely, we will repair damaged pedestrian bridges because there are many perforated stairs and people like to peek,” he uttered.
From many reports, peepers are indeed taking advantage from perforated pedestrian bridges to peek women with skirts using the stairs. One of those pedestrian bridges is the one located in Kenari Mas, Central Jakarta.
