City Removing Deposit System in Public Transportation

To provide safety and comfort in realizing ideal public transportation, City Administration plans on rejuvenating and re-managing public transportation in Jakarta, following as it is applied on TransJakarta service management.

Head of City Transportation Dept, Muhammad Akbar said that he will implement TransJakarta Management system to non-regular TransJakarta public transportation. The program will be focused on removing deposit management and transferring public transportation ownership as well as managing operational transit schedule, also reconciliation its physical condition.
“We will take over the ownership to the government and its types will be reconciled with the traversed route,” explained Akbar at the City Hall, Monday (4/21).
TransJakarta Bus Route Extension to Bekasi HamperedAkbar said that with this system, the deposit system will be vanished by transferring the ownership to the city government so that the bus drivers will not chasing the deposit and not drive recklessly on road.
Meanwhile for the types, City Transportation Dept. will use Integrated City Bus (BKTB) in accommodating passengers and continuing rural routes by using small transportation such as mikrolet. “We will reconcile with the routes, if it is in a big road, medium bus is enough. If the road is small, we will use mikrolet,” said Akbar.
This program is conducted because the private sectors or City Organda is failed in realizing ideal transportation for city residents.
