The city administration plans to change school status into the Regional Public Service Agency (BLUD) in the upcoming 2017. As planned, it will be started from senior high school (SMA) first.

School is entitled to choose competent teachers from foreign country

Jakarta Education Dept Head, Sopan Adrianto disclosed, if the BLUD has been formed, the school could design requirements to financial management. Therefore, a number of schools will be made into a pilot project.

"School is entitled to choose competent teachers from foreign country," he expressed, Thursday (7/28).

According to him, SMA was chosen as the initial stage because some schools already have its own business. After becoming BLUD, school is given confidence to manage earnings achieved.

"They are also entitled to educational development of the management of the income they receive. We hope to be done in 2017," he said.
