2016, Public School to Be Transformed Into BLUD

Why we have many puskesmas and RSUD, because the BLUD manages them. Our best private doctors can be recruited,

Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama revealed, his party will manage public schools into the Public Service Board (BLUD). This management concept is the same with General Hospital (RSUD) and community health center (puskesmas) that are not fully managed by Health Department, but BLUD.

"Why we have many puskesmas and RSUD, because the BLUD manages them. Our best private doctors can be recruited," he disclosed, in public dialog of Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) in Balai Kartini, South Jakarta, Tuesday (12/22).

If they manage public schools, private teachers in Jakarta can be recruited. He compares, before being diverted to BLUD, doctor, nurse, and midwife in puskesmas and RSUD must be civil servant. "By so, health competition between civil servant and non-civil servant could be formed by itself," he expressed.

He is optimistic such concept would bring education in Jakarta more better. Because teachers from civil servant should improve their quality for competing with private teachers.

"We want to change our school management," he finished.
