PKL Placement in Mall will Be Evaulated

Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) wanted the KUMKMP to evaluate the guided street vendor (PKL) activity in mall. This is because, they were placed in nonstrategic location.

They (PKL) must be placed in a strategic location such as in Gandaria City

Jakarta DPRD Commission B Member, Syarifudin disclosed PKL placement by relocating them to mall must be evaluated. Due to nonstrategic location, the income is not appropriate.

"They (PKL) must be placed in a strategic location such as in Gandaria City," he expressed, while leading a discussion of work program for Jakarta KUMKMP Dept in a meeting room of Jakarta DPRD Commission B, Thursday (7/28).

According to him, mall owner supposedly provides a strategic place and can be accessed by the visitor. Thus PKL placement is more impressed organized.

Jakarta KUMKMP Dept Head, Irwandi disclosed, according to Bylaw No. 2/2002 on Private Marketing, the mall owner should provide 20 percent of the land from the amount of business premises for PKL placement. But its practice is still ineffective.

"Indeed, there are still many who deviated from the rules. That's why we want to revise the bylaw," he finished.
