3,482 Online Taxis Not Yet Undergo KIR Test

The raid against online-based taxi in the capital will be intensified. This is because there are still found thousands of taxis have not undergone KIR test in the Motor Vehicle Testing Management Unit (UP PKB).

A lot of taxis are not yet undergoing KIR test. This shows low awareness from the car driver

Head of Jakarta Transportation Dept, Andri Yansyah disclosed, based on the data, from 5,003 taxis, 1,521 out of them have undergone KIR test. Thus there are still 3,482 vehicles have yet to undergo the test in Pulogadung UP PKB, East Jakarta.

Ombudsman Wants KIR Test to Be Supervised Tightly

"A lot of taxis are not yet undergoing KIR test. This shows low awareness from the car driver," he told, Monday (8/1).

It is also caused by unoptimal coordination between company with caretaker in the field and concern at the drop in the selling price of the ex-online taxi, as well as refusal action from the driver for labeling in form of number examination on the chassis.

That is why, his party and Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Directorate and Army will continue to hold the raid. The target is online-based taxi, such as Grab, Uber and Gocar.

Such vehicles will be raided because of not having KIR certificate from Pulogadung UP PKB and supervision card from Jakarta One-Stop Integrated Service Agency (BPTSP).
