Tens of Cars Still Violate Odd-Even System

The odd-even system keeps being applied in the capital. Evidently, tens of cars still violate the rules. 

We still found the offender and then given verbal warning. There has been no strict sanction so far

Relaying on Beritajakarta.com's data, on Jl Medan Merdeka Barat, precisely at Patung Kuda's Traffic Light (TL), a number of vehicles with even-numbered plate are seen passing and immediately given a warning by the police and officers of Jakarta Transportation Dept.

Section Head of Traffic Operational and Control for Jakarta Transportation Dept, August Fabian disclosed, warning that given is only verbal and explain to the driver where the road can only be passed by vehicle with odd-numbered plate today.

Odd-Even Offender Is Most Prevalent on Jl Gatot Subroto

"We still found the offender and then given verbal warning. There has been no strict sanction so far," he stated, Monday (8/1).

Similar statement also stated by one of members of Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Directorate, Briptu Ridwan. According to him, until 9.35 AM, warning has been given to 87 vehicles with even-numbered plate from Jl Medan Merdeja Barat towards Jl MH Thamrin.

"From 7-9.35 AM, we have warned 87 vehicles. But the vehicle with even-numbered plate was already on the wane at every red light," he added.
