City to Hold the 2014 JTE in 9 Cities

In order to attract more tourists visiting the capital city, Jakarta Provincial Government through Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department is going to hold the 2014 Jakarta Tourism Expo (JTE) in nine cities in Indonesia.

JTE is one of promotional strategies to advancing tourism sector in Jakarta. The event also involves tourism industry stakeholders from Jakarta and major cities in Indonesia

We’ll hold the event in nine cities,” stated Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department Head, Arie Budhiman, at City Hall, Wednesday (5/7).

Those nine cities are Palembang, Pontianak, Manado, Solo, Jayapura, Makassar, Pangkalpinang, Balikpapan, and Malang. Various exhibitions will color the event, including special tour packages to Jakarta. As a start, the 2014 JTE will be held simultaneously in two cities, namely Pangkalpinang and Palembang, on May 9-11, 2014.

“We will also hold table top and gathering activities to improve the partnership between Jakarta tourism industry stakeholders and Tourism Travel Bureau (BPW) of ASITA members,” told Budhiman.

The amount of domestic and foreign tourists visit in 2013 was able to increase the Regional Revenue (PAD) up to 60 percent. Based on Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department data, there were 31,646,700 domestic tourists and 2.3 million foreign tourists visited Jakarta throughout 2013.
