Community Health Center Provision Hampered by High Price of Land

Jakarta Health Department admitted there are still some community health centers which buildings still renting. The high price of land in the capital city becomes the main factor of the non-permanent place for some community health centers.

According to Head of Jakarta Health Department, Dien Emmawati, the community health centers which buildings still renting are those in Menteng, Gondangdia, and Pinangsia urban villages.

I asked you, if you were looking for land in Menteng, Gondangdia, and Pinangsia hard or not? It’s hard, right. So, those community health centers had to rent (the buildings) first while waiting until there are unused social and public facilities. Thus, we can still serve the people,” she stated, Friday (5/9).

Rawa Badak Selatan Citizens Need Decent Community Health Center

As for the community health center in Rawa Badak Selatan Uban Village, North Jakarta, its building is scheduled to use the land previously used for sports hall (GOR).

“If necessary, we could use the land of ex sports hall, ask for 400-500 square meters of the land to be built into community health center,” she told.

Emmawati also informed that 18 sub-district community health centers will be raised its status to be hospital D type. It is conducted to increase the number of beds for class 3 patients. Later, the patients suffering from dengue fever, typhoid, and diarrhea will be treated in this hospital D type.

Such a way is also conducted to support the Jakarta Health Card (KJS) program which has been merged into the National Health Insurance (JKN). Because of this program, the number of patients has increased sharply.

“Thus, we do not rely anymore on private hospitals. It is difficult if hospitals kept saying that the rooms were full. It makes us cannot provide the service,” uttered Emmawati.
