Basuki: Officials Must Understand Marketing Science

To be officials have to master marketing techniques, because their duty is to serve the citizens truly. But unfortunately, many politicians who then become officials do not understand about marketing science.

There are many politicians who do not understand of marketing science. If going to be a leader, we must serve the people as well as possible, with a concept to fulfill the brain, stomach, and wallets of the people

“ There are many politicians who do not understand of marketing science. If going to be a leader, we must serve the people as well as possible, with a concept to fulfill the brain, stomach, and wallets of the people ,” stated Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama when speaking in a talk show of ‘Meet The Leaders’ in one of private universities at Pancoran, South Jakarta, Saturday (5/10).

According to Basuki, being an official means bringing welfare to their people. Even though many people compete to become one, only few of them can run the mandate. “In an ancient Chinese term, the most honorable job is to become official, while being entrepreneur is number six. Because by being an official you can decide the fate of many people,” he uttered.

To be a good official, Basuki continued, there are special keys. The first is never takes bribe and the second is loyal to the constitution not the constituents. “If we never take bribes, we will never be afraid in taking decision, whether it is popular or not,” he asserted.

In addition, officials must also maintain their idealism and principals, but still being realistic. “Idealism is when our friends took bribes, we must never take it. But realistically, our friends have taken the bribes,” he expressed.
