40 Illegal Racers Arrested in Pasar Minggu

The rampant illegal race in Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, is very restless for road users as well as local residents. To anticipate it, Pasar Minggu Sector Police held raid against illegal race on Jalan Raya Pasar Minggu towards Depok, Sunday (5/11) early morning. From the raid, dozens of motorcycles were secured.

Illegal Race on Jalan Outer Ring Road Complained by Residents
Pasar Minggu Sector Police Chief Comr. Adri Desas Furyanto stated that the raid, which held at 1 AM until 2.30 AM, was carried out to provide comfort and safety for road users and residents who were disturbed with the illegal race.
"The operation was held for 2,5 hours and successfully secured 29 units of various types of motorcycles,” he told, Sunday (5/11).
In the operation, Furyanto continued, 29 personnel were deployed. Besides securing motorcycles, his party also secured 40 drivers who three of them were unconscious by alcohol effect.
“We ticketed all of them with motorcycles as evidences. As for the three drunken people, we arrest them for 24 hours and apply compulsory report to them,” he uttered.
