PD Pasar Jaya is about to renovate the Pasar Rumput, Manggarai, South Jakarta on September 15, 2016. Later on, all traders will be relocated to a temporary shelter (TPS) which is located on left side of the old market.

"After being emptied, we will do demolation and is predicted to be complete around 2-3 months. We can handover to Ministry of Public Works and Housing," disclosed Mahfudin, Manager of PD Pasar Jaya South Area, Thursday (8/25).

As planned, the land would be transformed into a low-cost apartment (rusunawi) with 24 floors. In details, two floors are for market and 22 floors are for dwelling.

"After it is done, we will resend them there," he told.

Meanwhile, Nunuk (45), one of grocery traders admitted he was happy with renovation plan initiated by PD Pasar Jaya. By so, it is hoped trader and buyer could feel more comfortable.

"Sure, I am so happy because the market has not been renovated over 30 years," she expressed.
