Odd-Even Traffic System to Apply Normally Tomorrow

After holding the trial, now odd-even traffic system will effectively run on Tuesday (8/30). Offenders of this policy will be fined maximally Rp 500 thousand.

“Odd-even traffic system law is based on Governor Regulation No. 164/2016 about Traffic Restriction with Odd-Even,” said Andri Yansyah, Jakarta Head Dept. of Transportation, Monday (8/29).

During the trial , he added, vehicles travelling time declined about 19 percent, the speed increased up to 20 percent, and vehicle volume decreased by 15 percent.

According to him, odd-even is one of three strategic programs in handling traffic in Jakarta.

“Transjakarta passenger increased significantly at corridor I (Blok M - Kota) by 32 percent, corridor VI (Ragunan - Dukuh Atas) 27 percent, and corridor IX (Pinang Ranti - Pluit) 30 percent,” he closed.
