Not Wearing Uniforms, 25 Public Transportation Drivers Ticketed

Intensive raid done by the officers does not make public transportation drivers behave discipline and orderly. This can be proven from 25 public transportation drivers ticketed by East Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department because of not wearing uniforms and having expired driver ID cards (KPP). The raid is held at Klender Flyover, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, Monday (5/12).

As many as 25 public transportations were ticketed. They don’t wearing uniforms and their KPPs are expired,” stated Head of East Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department Supervision and Control Section, Budi Sugiantoro.

Those 25 public transportation drivers netted consist of five Metromini 47 (Pulogadung-Pondok Gede) drivers, five APB 02 (Jatiwaringin-Rawamangun) drivers, and drivers of KWK with various trajectories, such as KWK 25 (Rawamangun-Pondok Kopi).

According to Sugiantoro, KPP is very important for public transportation drivers and must be carried every time to prevent illegal drivers. If there were illegal drivers, the ones will be harmed are the passengers.

Marpaung (30), a metromini bus driver, admitted that he does not wearing uniform because all two of his uniforms are being washed.

“I only have two uniforms, all is dirty and still not dry. I had to use this red colored shirt. About my KPP, I have not had the time to extend its validity period,” reasoned Marpaung when officers ticketed him.
