PSO Reduction Won't Affect Bus Fare Hike

City Provincial Government plans to reduce the provision of Public Service Obligation (PSO) or public service obligation towards PT Transjakarta in the upcoming 2017. Despite it is decreased, it will not affect the fare increase next year.

"Meanwhile, bus ticket fare is still normal," disclosed Jakarta Vice Governor, at City Hall, Thursday (9/1).

He realized that, all this time, PSO that given is used to subsidize ticket fare. Thus its fare is still at Rp 3,500.

Tomorrow, Transjakarta Tap In & Tap Out Trialled

PT Transjakarta can add it from the profits earned on the assets used by a number of companies to advertise products. This is because, next year, the assets of PT Transjakarta like people pedestrian bridge (JPO), bus stop and bus can be fitted with billboard.

"They can maximize it with billboard, use LCD, and LED. So it was actually PSO. By doing so, the income will increase. Automatically we decrease its PSO through the profits that earned," he said.
