Pramono Calls for Investigation into Dishub Officer Over Extortion Allegations

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has instructed Transportation Agency (Dishub) Head to investigate the officer suspected of extorting bajaj driver in Central Jakarta. The allegation surfaced on social media.

" I still request an investigation,"

"I'm still requesting the Head of Dishub to investigate the Dishub officer," he conveyed at Balai Agung, Jakarta City Hall, on Monday (6/30).

Pramono explained, after receiving information about the alleged extortion, he contacted the Head of Jakarta Transportation Agency to seek clarification.

According to the Head of Transportation Agency, the officer denied the extortion allegations.

"The Agency Head sent me a video confession from a person in Senen who initially claimed to have been extorted. It turned out that the person gave a statement saying the situation was not as had been circulated," he stated.

Although the Dishub officer has denied the extortion, Pramono still insists on a thorough investigation. He emphasized that such incidents must not be repeated.

"Even though there is a testimonial from the person who claimed to have been extorted saying it didn't happen that way, I still request an investigation, because this kind of thing cannot be allowed to happen," he asserted.
