50 Illegal Stalls in Prumpung Cemetery Demolished

Around 60 joint personnel of Cipinang Besar Utara Urban Village and Jatinegara Sub-District Satpol PP tore down 50 illegal stalls belonged to street vendors selling food, soft drinks, and vegetables in Prumpung Public Cemetery (TPU), Jatinegara, East Jakarta, Tuesday (5/13).

We’ve warned the street vendors several times, but they ignored it. That’s why we tear down their stalls

According to Head of Jatinegara Sub-District Satpol PP, Dapot Simajuntak, the existence of those stalls has violated Bylaw No. 8/2007 about Public Order, thus officers had to tear them down. Besides, his party has warned the stall owners to demolish the stalls themselves, but it was ignored.

“We’ve warned the street vendors several times, but they ignored it. That’s why we tear down their stalls,” he stated.
