Homestay Business in Seribu Islands Will Be Taxable

The homestay business management in Seribu Islands will be taxable. It is in line with a policy of Seribu Islands Regency Administration that will simplify its business licensing.

"City Tax Service Dept is going to set the amount of local taxes to the homestay owner," he stated Budi Utomo, Regent of Seribu Islands, Thursday (9/15). 

Utomo disclosed that continues to conducting guidance towards resort and homestay managers thus it could be better so that tourist arrivals continue to grow. Many homestay owners provides a variety of amenities to attract tourists, with affordable price.

Homestay in Seribu Islands Must Have Building Permit

"Because many tourists who visit the islands prefer to choose homestay as a place to stay," he expressed.

His party also urged the owner to immediately propose licensing to Seribu Islands PTSP thus process of supervision, guidance and training can be easier in future.

"We hope they to immediately legalize their business and pay tax to increase local revenue," he uttered.

Formerly, Seribu Islands PTSP Office Head, Lamhot Tambunan explained that more than 1,500 homestays have not have the tourism company list identity (TDP).

"We're targeting all homestays have the TDP in the upcoming October," he finished.
