According to him, such dredging is to overcome inundation in residential nearby the riverbank, especially citizens living in Halim Perdanakusuma area.

Separately, Section Head of River and Beach for Jakarta Water Management System, Maryana stated that dredging in Halim Perdanakusuma is not his responsibility.
"Perhaps it's East Jakarta Water Management Sub-dept," he stressed.
Meanwhile, East Jakarta Water Management Sub-dept Head, Ahmad Yazied Bustomi could not be confirmed, either from cell phone or short message.
