Warga Miskin di Pulau Seribu Akan Divalidasi Ulang

Poor People in Seribu Islands will Be Re-validated

Seribu Islands District Administration is about to re-validate the number of poor people in Seribu Islands. By so, distribution of social assistance to the poor can be better targeted.

Because there are still found invalid data

"All stakeholders should sit together to set the criteria of poverty in Seribu Islands. Later on, data on the number of poor people could be used by regional working unit (SKPD). Because there are still found invalid data," said Ismer Harahap, Secretary of Seribu Islands District, Monday (9/19).

Ismer disclosed, based on the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), there are 25,000 people or 2,650 households are the poor.

Poor People in City Predicted Hit 17 Percent

"Such data is different from the Health Dept's data which states around 27,000 poor people receive the BPJS," he expressed.

While for the Education Dept's data, 90 percent of students receive the KJP.

"Not all residents in the islands are categorized as poor," he asked.

According to him, data discrepancies of poor people in this region is due to differences in the parameters used by relevant unit. The data potentially causes social insecurity.

"Hence, we'll form a team to validate the most correct data of the poor," he said.
