Basuki Suggests Police Ticketing People Dating on Flyover

Motorists or couples who take a break or dating on some flyovers could not be controlled everyday. It often creates criminal act because of located in open space. Awareness is needed from each person to leave this.

“People can have date everywhere. You can’t force us to be human corridor,” Jakarta vice Governor, Basuki T Purnama said at City Hall, Friday (5/16).

To make deterrent effect to the youngsters who like to date on flyover, Basuki suggests police officers to take legal action with traffic violation article.

But, Basuki assessed, it will be effective if the police have authorities to give them direct sanction, without conducting judicial process.

“I am agreed of blue ticketing. Cooperates to give report, pay attention to the spots which often used as their hang out place to date,” he added.

Just to inform, some youngsters are often have date on flyover at night. Actually, their behavior is potentially to endanger themselves, not only from the traffic, but also criminality.

On Tuesday (5/13) early morning, there were a couple who dating on Pasar Rebo flyover, East Jakarta, Ari Winata (24) and Shinta (21), was ambushed by robber with cleaver. The robber asked for their mobile phone. Ari was trying to give resistance, but he was slashed by robber’s cleaver to death.
