KIR Deadline for Online Taxi Extended Six Months

Tens of online taxis return to crowd the Pulogadung Motor Vehicle Test (PKB), East Jakarta, Monday (10/3). This follows the postponement of the deadline for KIR on October 1. It is postponed until the next six months or extended.

Based on the information in the field, tens of online taxis have crowded the KIR test at Pulogadung PKB. Those who are passed will be attached at the windshield of a car. Then the machine will be plastered with kir number with seven digits.

Chief of Pulogadung PKB Technical Management, Tiyana Brotoadi disclosed, the KIR test was formerly ended on September 30. It is compliance with Presidential Regulation Bo. 32/2016 on Implementation of Public Transport with Public Transport Outside Trajectory.

Cars Under 1,300cc Cannot Be Used as Online Taxi

"Initially, the kir deadline was on October 30, but has been extended up to six months. That's why we receive the service again,' he told.

The number of online taxis that registers the KIR on Monday is 88 units. But only 69 units underwent it and left 64 units. Then five others are failed.

Based on the data, until September 30, total online taxi that has undergone KIR is 5,923 units. From that number, 332 units are failed. From 5,923 units are from three operators, namely Grab Car (2,099 units), Uber Car (3,350 units) and Go Car (474 units).

He mentions, such postponement is because there are still vehicles outside Jakarta not yet undergo KIR such as Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi and Bogor. But they also operate in Jakarta. That is why, the policy was taken, and all online taxis from outside Jakarta must process the KIR as soon as possible.
