Illegal Parking lot on Jalan Laksa Raya Protested by Locals

Citizens living on Jalan Laksa Raya RW 03, Jembatan Lima Urban Village, Tambora Sub-District, are complaining the existence of illegal parking lot used for goods truck in front of their houses. The parking lot has been in existence about 10 years and has been no further action from related unit.

Besides disturbing people activity, the parked trucks are also causing traffic congestion. 

Subandi, (55), a local citizen expressed that due to this condition, many houses used as business place and delivery service. It has been going on since 10 years. "We feel disturbed, because the parking lot leads to congestion and make citizens difficult to park their vehicles," he lamented, Saturday (4/17).

Residents Ask Pesanggrahan River Normalization Accelerated

Hence, related unit is hoped to immediately find a solution in order to recreate the convenience and safety in such area. "We do not mind some houses used a business place, but please don't disturb people activity here, including vehicle users passing on Jalan Laksa Raya," he stressed.

Similar condition is also seen along Jalan Puri Indah, Kembangan Sub-District. Although there is parking sign ban, yet tens of people remain parking the vehicles on the roadside to pick up their children from school. It happens nearly every day.

Head of Supervision and Control Section for West Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, Imam Slamet stated his sub-department will soon check the information. If it was true, he would take a decisive action.

"We'll coordinate with police first. If our warning is ignored, the trucks will be grounded," he asserted.
