Grogol Terminal Needs Repair

A number of public transport drivers and kiosk renters are requesting the West Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department to rejuvenate the Grogol 1 and 2 Terminals in West Jakarta. This is because many potholes seen around terminal and waiting benches broken. They have actually reported this matter, but until now there has been no action from related unit. Moreover, they also routinely pay levy.

Based on beritajakarta.com observations, around Grogol 1 Terminal, there are potholes measuring 1.5 meters with 10-20 centimeters deep. Due to being neglected, a lot of public transports damaged, like per and tire broken.

"Every month, many public transports damaged here. The potholes are very disturbing our operational, especially at night due to lack of lighting," lamented Mangindar (42), a driver of Mikrolet M25 (Grogol-Kota), Sunday (5/18).

Yet the different condition seen in the Grogol 2 Terminal, where the terminal service looks neat. But a number of waiting benches for passengers are damaged and some building roofs leaked, causing passengers and peddlers activity disturbed.

Responding on this matter, Grogol Terminal Head, Dominggus A disclosed that terminal will be transformed into a more modern like Manggarai Terminal in South Jakarta that was inaugurated by Jakarta Governor, Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo a few days ago.

"Grogol Terminal would be revitalized with the maximum standards of service. But we're still waiting for information from the Jakarta Provincial Government," he told.

Regarding potholes, he assessed, his party has filed road repair to city level. "We're just waiting for the results of the auction at provincial level," he expressed.
