Jakarta Provincial Government together with Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) are developing type A sea dike. The dike replaces the existing dike which only has 2.8 meters of height.

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T. Purnama optimistic that the dike will minimize the flood in the capital.
“Flood can be handled. We are now developing dike by 3.8 meters of height,” he said, Tuesday (10/11).
39 Muara Baru Dike Piles Have Been InstalledThe dike along 92 km is constructed from Cakung-Cilincing to Tanjung Priok.
Basuki added that the dike is different with the Giant Sea Wall. This is the preliminary dike to block tidal wave.
After completing the dike construction, Jakarta Provincial Government will provide flat around Cakung-Cilincing for the fishermen.
“The flat will face the sea. It is similar with Pantai Mutiara. The flat is provided for the fishermen,” he closed.
