Two Billboards in Central Jakarta Torn Down

Jakarta government once again tore down unauthorized billboards that attached on the Bendungan Hilir and Karet Tengsin crossing bridges, Jl Jenderal Sudirman, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.

We targeted two points last night. Previously, there were three points, namely Sumur Bor, Pondok Indah and Warung Jati crossing bridges

Vice Head of Jakarta Transportation Dept, Sigit Wijatmoko disclosed, billboard operation is done at night, to avoid severe congestion.

"We targeted two points last night. Previously, there were three points, namely Sumur Bor, Pondok Indah and Warung Jati crossing bridges," he stated, Thursday (10/13).

He stated such operation involved 200 officers of Jakarta Transportation Dept, Central Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-dept, Satpol PP, PPSU, army and police.

"We tear down 75 billboards where 74 of them are illegal. And until today, there have been five billboard controlled. We target to control two points every week," he stressed.

The operation began at 9.30 PM, Wednesday (10/12) and finished at 5.30 AM.
