Reported by Folmer | Translated by Isa Efriadi
Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki T Purnama said he does not put too much thought on the broken coalition of Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) and Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party approaching the 2014 presidential election.
Whoever the vice president candidate is, I’m all right. That is their business. Besides, I am already endowed in the city. Why would I bother?
Basuki also claimed it will not affect his working performance as vice governor, including his relationship with Jakarta Governor who is also president candidate, Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo. Instead, he chooses to be more focus to develop Jakarta than to think about presidential candidacy between Jokowi and his party’s chief, Prabowo Subianto.
Basuki: Next President Must Investigate May ‘98 Tragedy!Related with Gerindra Party coalition with Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), Basuki told that his relationship with PKS Fraction in City Legislative Council (DPRD) is very good despite a survey done by PKS’ wing organization stated that Jakartans resist Basuki to be Jakarta Governor replacing Jokowi.
“Those who clash were (PKS’) mass organizations. Here in Jakarta, I never clash with PKS. We are all right. Same to Mr. Sani (Triwisaksana) is also all right,” stated Basuki at City Hall, Monday (5/19).
According to Basuki, there are no enemies nor opponents in political world. But, the most important thing is how to reach targeted goals.
“If you asked how (Gerindra) can join PKS? Well, that’s politic. There are no eternal friends nor enemies. The most different ideology can also join. Rather than got left behind by train, so they said,” he expressed.
In that occasion, Basuki also
addressed his support to Hatta Rajasa as vice president candidate chosen by Prabowo Soebianto.“Whoever the vice president candidate is, I’m all right. That is their business. Besides, I am already endowed in the city. Why would I bother? There is no use. About which I would choose, wallahu a'lam (only God knows). The election is secret, right,” he uttered.
