Capital Green Open Space Reaches 9,896.8 Ha

The number of green open space in Jakarta has reached 14.94 percent or 9,896.8 hectares. In fact, each cities must have 30 percent of green space.

We have added 73.52 ha in the last three years

Djafar Muchlisin, Jakarta Head Dept. of City Park and Cemetery, admitted land buying process keeps accelerated to add more green open space.

“Green space realization in Jakarta has reached 14.94 percent,” he said, Wednesday (10/19).

In details, 5.44 percent are public green open space and 9.5 percent are private. The agency manages 2,750 ha or 4.22 percent of green open space.

Those are 1,347.77 ha of park green open space, 777 ha of green belt, and 628.3 of cemetery. The rest is managed by Dept. of Maritime and Food Tenacity in form of city forest.

Based on the agency data, green open space adding in 2013 was 9.32 ha, 2014 was 13.73 ha, and 2015 was 50.45 ha.

“We have added 73.52 ha in the last three years,” he added.
