Following Jokowi, Station TV Cars Collided, 1 Severely Injured

Pile-up accident involving three cars happened on Jalan Metro Pondok Indah, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, Tuesday (5/20). Two of the cars are television media cars from Trans7 and JakTV which followed Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo going blusukan. These cars are severely damaged and one JakTV crew suffers severe injuries and has been rushed to a hospital.

According to Hidayat, the car that hit the truck was JakTV’s car Toyota Avanza B 1506 TZR. Meanwhile, Trans7’s car Toyota Avanza B 1013 PF behind JakTV’s car also could not avoid collision with the car in front.

“So, it’s a pile-up accident. JakTV’s car could not avoid hitting the truck got hit from behind by Trans7’s car,” told Hidayat.

In JakTV’s car, the person sat next to the driver was Daniel who suffers broken hand, while the driver and the passenger behind him only suffer some bruises.

“The passenger suffers the most is the one sat next to the driver, because the driver slammed the vehicle to the right. His hand is broken, the others don’t injure too bad,” explained Hidayat.

At this time, the cars involved in this accident have been evacuated to South Jakarta Metro Resort Police office.

“The victims were rushed to Pondok Indah Hospital. We’re currently gathering information on the exact cause of the accident,” stated Brigadier Agus Setyo, officer from South Jakarta Metro Resort Police Traffic Unit.
