Pasar Senen Traders will Occupy Blok V Tomorrow

Traders in Pasar Senen Blok III who become fire victims will be occupying kiosks in Blok V starting tomorrow, Thursday (5/22). They will be there until Pasar Senen finished being revitalized which targeted to finish in three years.

“Pasar Senen Blok V has been repaired and ready to be occupied. The traders are scheduled to be relocated gradually starting tomorrow, May 22. A total of 1,170 kiosks have been prepared

“Pasar Senen Blok V has been repaired and ready to be occupied. The traders are scheduled to be relocated gradually starting tomorrow, May 22. A total of 1,170 kiosks have been prepared,” stated Head of PD Pasar Jaya Public Relations Division, Agus Lamun, at City Hall, Wednesday (5/21).

Besides Blok V, Lamun continued, PD Pasar Jaya is also going to build two-story semi-permanent temporary shelter (TPS) on the courtyard of Pasar Senen Blok III. The traders occupying the TPS will only be charged with electricity and cleanliness bills, kiosk rent fee excluded.

Pasar Senen Traders Refuse Relocation

“The TPS will accommodate 280 fish and vegetables traders as well as 460 used clothes traders. The most important thing is for the traders to occupy the TPS first. It’s free, there is no charge, unless for electricity usage,” he explained.

Regarding the traders’ data collection, Lamun told that PD Pasar Jaya must be conscientious in doing it to prevent non Pasar Senen Blok III traders taking advantage from this situation. As known, the fire ravaged the market a month ago has caused thousands of traders lost their kiosks. As a result, Pasar Senen Blok III traders had to sell on roadsides for survival.

“The data collection must be conscientious. Don’t let traders who are not Pasar Senen Blok III traders taking advantage the situation,” he uttered.
