Pasar Senen Vendors Allowed to Trade on Roadsides for 3 Days

Central Jakarta Administration gives a three-day deadline to Pasar Senen Blok III vendors, who become fire victims, to trade on roadsides. After that, all vendors are expected to move to Blok V Big Market Unit (UPB) that is currently being repaired.

We are waiting PD Pasar Jaya to finish tidying up Blok V. If it’s ready, the vendors will be relocated there

Central Jakarta Mayor, Saefullah, said the vendors are given tolerance to trade along Jalan Senen Raya and Jalan Stasiun Senen. Then, they will be relocated by PD Pasar Jaya. “We are waiting PD Pasar Jaya to finish tidying up Blok V. If it’s ready, the vendors will be relocated there,” he stated, Tuesday (4/29).

Saefullah estimated that Pasar Senen Blok V repair to finish in three days. “We’re targeting it to be finished in three days. The vendors cannot stay too long to trade on roadsides,” he asserted.

Senen Market Blok II Vendors’ Income Decreasing

Besides tidying up Blok V, PD Pasar Jaya will also build a temporary shelter around the burned market. “PD Pasar Jaya will build a temporary shelter for about three months around the fire location,” he told.

According to Saefullah, Pasar Senen Blok III will be re-built as before and the construction process will be handled all by PD Pasar Jaya as the asset owner. “In Pasar Senen Blok V building, PD Pasar Jaya prepares 1,000 kiosks for Blok III vendors who become fire victims. There are 3,096 burned kiosks in Blok III, while the number of vendors is only about 1,000. So, those vendors have more than two kiosks,” he uttered.
