Cipayung Social Institution is Overload

Bina Laras II Social Institution (PSBL) on Jalan Binamarga, Ceger, Cipayung, East Jakarta is overload. The institution is currently being occupied by 638 psychotics, in which actually the institution only has a capacity of 300 people.

Every room can only accommodate 20 people, but now filled by 80 people. It affects on our service to the entire social patient (WBS)

Head of PSBL II, Andi Muchdar, said that this overload has happened since last year. This institution has 3-4 psychotic or mental disorder patients on the average every day.

“Every room can only accommodate 20 people, but now filled by 80 people. It affects on our service to the entire social patient (WBS),” said Muchdar, Thursday (5/22).

The disturbed services are feeding, bathing, and health caring to all institution occupants. “The most vulnerable is in the food serving. A little late in feeding, patients can bluster and destroy the existing facilities,” explained Muchdar.

There are 36 officers in PSBL, nine of them work in kitchen, six of them work at night from 08.00 PM - 06.00 AM, and the rests work in barrack.

There is no time limit for all patients to stay in PSBL II. It all depends on the WBS mental condition, the longer the recovery, the longer the stay.
