Ciliwung Residents Encouraged to Maintain Cleanliness

Jakarta Communication, Informatic and Public Relation Dept along with Jakarta Cleanliness Dept is holding a Public Relation Network and Communication Management about garbage handling in the capital. 

Discussion along with residents is hoped able to change resident's habit not to throw garbage haphazardly, thus cleanliness can be maintained

The activity is participated by tens of citizens living in Ciliwung River, Kebon Melati and Kampung Bali urban villages. They discuss about how to develop the power of media and change people's habit of throwing garbage in the river.

Jakarta’s Assistant to the Governor for Spatial Planning and Environment, Oswar Muadzin Mungkasa disclosed, cooperation between government, residents and media is very important thus information about ban on littering in the river can be delivered and  in accordance with the substance.

The government, residents and media must form a strong bond with each other in order to change resident's habit of throwing garbage in the river.

"Discussion along with residents is hoped able to change resident's habit not to throw garbage haphazardly, thus cleanliness can be maintained," he expressed, Thursday (11/17).

Head of Jakarta Cleanliness Dept, Isnawa Adji disclosed the image of a city in the world is seen from the hygiene conditions. For handling, there are 13,000 janitors spread throughout Jakarta.

"They work from morning until afternoon to handle garbage on the road and in the river," he stated.

He admitted it is not merely handed to them, but also residents.

Such activity was opened by Jakarta’s assistant to the governor for spatial planning and environment, Oswar Muadzin Mungkasa by presenting sources such as Head of Jakarta Cleanliness Dept Isnawa Adji, Climate Change Communication Specialist Emilia Bassar and Clinical and Forensic Psychologist Kasandra Putranto.
