Rain, Trash Volume at KBB Reached 72 Tons

As much as 72 tons of garbage were transported by cleanliness freelancer under Tambora Sub-district from a trash filter machine at West Flood Canal (KBB), Season City, Jembatan Besi, West Jakarta. Trash itself is dominated by bamboo and household trash.

Sahbani (47), one of cleanliness freelancers said the river that crosses from Kampung Melayu-Tanah Abang empties into Season City. As many as eight trucks type tipar were sent to pick up trash. To optimize it, two excavators also sent to the field.

"This is due to the impact of rain," he expressed, Tuesday (11/8).

Post-Demonstration, 75 Tons of Trash Collected

Every day, he furthered, five freelancers are placed to pick up trash at KBB. Usually they only pick up eight tons, but now can pick up 72 tons.

"There is increase in trash volume significantly. So we do cleanliness to smoothen water flow," he finished.
