The distribution of chili from distributor to capital city decreases significantly. This condition has made the chili price is rocketing. It happened because chili stock in distributor area is lacking during rainy season.
We are lacking of 60 tons. That is why the price is higher
Sri Haryati, Jakarta Head Economy Bureau, said Jakarta needs 130 tons of chili per day. In fact, it only met by 70 tons.
“We are lacking of 60 tons. That is why the price is higher,” she said, Monday (11/21).
Capital City Chili Supply Depends on SupplierResponding this matter, she has cooperated with PD Pasar Jaya and Agriculture Ministry to hold market operation. But this effort is disturbed by chili stock.
“Market operation is able to decrease the price, but we have no more stocks,” she closed.
