145 PMKS Netted in Jakarta

In order to minimize traffic congestion and create convenience for people, Jakarta Satpol PP officers once again did a raid against with people social welfare issues (PMKS) and have netted 145 people from five municipalities, Jakarta, Tuesday (5/27). 

"The raid held since two weeks ago is simultaneously conducted in five municipalities. In the field, we secure 70 vagrants and beggars as well as 75 sex workers in terminals, bus stops, sidewalks," said Head of Jakarta Satpol PP, Kukuh Hadi Santosa, Tuesday (5/27).

More Than 300 PMKS in N. Jakarta Netted

He continued, the raid is conducted because the existence of PMKS will be rampant in each area ahead of the fasting month. Its raid is focused on terminals, bus stops, train stations, sidewalks and pedestrian bridges (JPO). In such areas, officers checked some visitors' ID card and ask their intent coming to Jakarta.

He admitted that the amount of netted PMKS is deemed low. Therefore, Jakarta Social Department planned to be involved in the raid against PMKS and would be carried out tacitly.

Thus far, his side has yet to give sanction to PMKS with scams article initiated by Jakarta Vice Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama. This is the last step after getting the exact reason from the PMKS over their action.

"The sanction is our last weapon. Besides, many of the PMKS has switched their professions to become a tailor after being given education," he exclaimed.
