More Than 300 PMKS in N. Jakarta Netted

The raid against people with social welfare issues (PMKS) keeps being intensified by North Jakarta Social Sub-Department. Since January-March 2014, more than 300 PMKS had been netted in North Jakarta. The netted PMKS are homeless, street kids, beggars, sex workers, transvestites, lepers, Pak Ogah (unofficial traffic wardens), psychotic (mental disorders), and street singers.

Head of North Jakarta Social Sub-Department, Israk said that those PMKS were netted from Jalan Yos Sudarso, Lodan Ancol junction, Sunter Toll Road, and Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan. “Every day, we can secure 5 or 6 PMKS,” he explained, Thursday (4/17).
While for the underage PMKS, he asked the pickup should bring the PM 1 letter, ID card copy, as well as ID card parent copy and statement letter from parent, if they want to redeem their children.
