City Needs More Raw Water

At this moment, Jakarta needs more raw water. Raw water necessity in 2016 is 22,131 liter per second, but the availability is only 18,575 liter per second.

Our raw water is far from enough, but we try to add it

PD PAM Jaya Director, Erlan Hidayat, admitted the amount will increase every year.

“Our raw water is far from enough, but we try to add it,” he said, Tuesday (12/27).

Cimanggis Reservoir Project Stopped Temporarily

Water source is still dominated from Jatiluhur reservoir by 81 percent. Next from Tangerang by 15.95 percent, and the rest from rivers in Jakarta by 3.05 percent.

His side will use several big rivers in Jakarta such as West Flood Canal and Pesanggrahan as the additional sources.

“We’ll increase the use of river as our raw water sources,” he closed.
