City to Provide More Parks in Dense Settlement

The efforts to add parks on the city is keep conducted by Jakarta Provincial Government. Besides to add green open space (RTH), parks can also be a media for growth and development of children psychiatric. Therefore, Jakarta Provincial Government is about to add parks especially in dense settlement.

Dense populated settlement needs parks for social interaction. It is also good for children psychiatric development

Head Dept. of Jakarta City Parks and Cemeteries, Nandar Sunandar said, parks development program in dense populated area is already conducted since long time ago, but now is focusing on proper park for children (TLA). While for RW’s level the program is named children friendly RW.

"Dense populated settlement needs parks for social interaction. It is also good for children psychiatric development," said Sunandar, Tuesday (5/27).

Jokowi Asks Parks in the City to Be Multi-Function

Sunandar continued that Jakarta Provincial Government has socialized the program, especially for residents who want to sell their land may contact related department.

"An advertisement installation which is instructed by Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki T. Purnama to mayors and heads of urban village has been done a week ago," he added.

Based on Distankam's data, there are 2,523 green open space spots in form of parks or green lanes, and also 101 interactive parks.
